GRAND RAPIDS — New Moon will be the next featured band at the Rhythm on the River Arts Series in Grand
Rapids on July 14 at 4 p.m.
The programs are held in the Wright Pavilion located on the towpath between the canal and the Maumee
River at the end of Lincoln Street.
This quartet is comprised of Laurie Swyers, who has been called the best female blues player in Toledo,
who sings and plays guitar and harmonica; Mary Dick, who is a guitarist/singer songwriter; Leo Sancrant
on bass; and Dario Insenga on drums. New Moon has been playing together for two years and their original
compositions will be featured, along with blues, pop and rock.
The programs are sponsored by the Grand Rapids Historical Society and are free to the public. Bring lawn
chairs or blankets and join in this beautiful setting alongside the Maumee River. In case of rain, the
program will be moved to the old fire station, farther west on Front Street.
