Michigan’s Horford to transfer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan’s Jon Horford is planning to transfer for his final season of basketball
eligibility.
The school announced Horford’s decision Thursday.
The 6-foot-10 Horford averaged 3.8 points per game this season, helping the Wolverines win the Big Ten
despite losing big man Mitch McGary to a back injury. It’s not clear whether McGary will return to
school next season or go to the NBA.
If McGary does not come back, the Wolverines could be quite thin in the frontcourt. They also lose senior
Jordan Morgan.
Horford is scheduled to complete his undergraduate degree in May. He says he leaves Michigan “with
nothing but love in my heart.”
