Custar talks about block grant
CUSTAR — Village council will hold a special meeting 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion Hall,
9155 Custar Road, to discuss the Community Development Block Grant project.
BG Civil Service Commission meets
The Bowling Green Civil Service Commission will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The meeting will be held in
the personnel director’s Office, located in the City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.

The purpose of the meeting is to review and recommend changes to civil service rules, take all actions
necessary to establish eligibility and certified lists, establishing testing procedures and processes,
establishing passing examination scores, accept requests to waive out of hiring processes, and/or
certify names of candidates deemed eligible for consideration for hire or promotion to classified
positions. Action will also be taken, as necessary, to modify, add, accept, or abolish job descriptions,
and to establish classified positions and/or schedule and/or establish the requirements for or types of
hiring or promotional examinations.
Food distribution is Friday in BG
The monthly food distribution and Senior Food Box Program will be Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. at First
United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St.
Free fresh produce and food will be available in limited quantities. Bring a cart or wagon if you have
one. A picture ID and phone number are required for new applicants.
This is for anyone in Wood County who meets the income guidelines or who has recently lost a job.

SeaGate Food Bank also is present at the same time to handout senior boxes to those who meet their
eligibility requirements.
Sons of the American Legion plan gun raffle
TONTOGANY — The Sons of the American Legion will hold a gun raffle Saturday at 6 p.m. Doors will open at
5 with dinner at 5:30 at the Tontogany American Legion Post, 18086 Tontogany Road.
Tickets are $100 each and include a prime rib dinner, beer, wine, soft drinks and entry into raffles for
20 guns.
The guns are supplied by Smooth Bore LLC, and winners do not need to be present to win. Winners must
complete a background check otherwise a cash prize will be award. Must be 21 to win a hand gun.
