Taste of Toledo moves to Levis
PERRYSBURG – The Taste of Toledo will be holding its grand opening celebration today through Sunday at
its new location in Levis Commons.
After 25 years in Holland, the shop will now operate at  3110 Chappel Drive, Perrysburg.
The store focuses on locally made products including gourmet gift baskets, Ohio wines, George Carruth
sculptures and more. Specials and discounts will be offered during the festivities.
The grand opening hours will be today and Saturday from 10 a.m.  to 9 p.m. both days and Sunday noon to 5
p.m.

Weston man arrested after fleeing police
A Weston man was arrested on drunk driving and other charges Wednesday after he reported flipped his
vehicle and fled into a nearby cornfield southwest of Bowling Green.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 11:15 a.m., Isias Perez, 20, was eastbound on Sand Ridge
Road, just east of Liberty Hi Road, when he drove of the right side of the road, struck a utility pole
and phone box, and then overturned.
The vehicle continued off the south side of the road and into a standing cornfield, coming to rest on its
roof.
According to a witness, Perez subsequently exited the vehicle and fled into the cornfield. Deputies
called to the scene found footprints and located him shortly thereafter in a nearby woods.
Perez was cited for operating a vehicle impaired, prohibited alcohol (BAC 0.226), failure to control,
underage possession, and no operator’s license.
City offices closed Monday
Bowling Green Municipal Court will cancel its normal schedule on Monday in observance of Columbus Day.
