Gas leak closes roadway
A gas leak reported this morning shut down a portion of Liberty Hi Road northeast of the city.
A Wood County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher said the incident was reported at a meter in the 17800 block of
Liberty Hi Road just after 5 a.m. No evacuations were reported.
Suburban Gas and Middleton Township Fire responded to the scene, though the fire department had left as
of 7:25 a.m.
Liberty Hi Road was closed off between Kellogg Road and Bishop Road for repair of the leak.
1 hurt, 2 cited after BG crash
One man was taken to Wood County Hospital Monday following a crash in the 1000 block of South Main
Street.
The crash was reported to BG Police at 3:31 p.m.
Robert Bowley Jr., Bowling Green, was cited for right-of-way at a left turn following the collision with
Zachary Bankey-Downard, also of Bowling Green.
Bankey-Downard was taken to Wood County Hospital by Bowling Green Fire/EMS with incapacitating injuries.

Bankey-Downard was also cited with two counts of driving under suspension.
Bobcat arts fest is Thursday
The 13th annual Bobcat Festival of the Arts, sponsored by the Bowling Green High School Drama Club, will
be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
Entertainers include high school dancers, vocalists, improv actors, and musicians, and a few children and
adults will be featured as well
Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door.
Student producers are juniors Mickey Heider and Drake Doren.
Common Core pros and cons discussed
PERRYSBURG – The Maumee Valley Defenders of Liberty and the NW Ohio Conservative Coalition are sponsoring
a public discussion on the pros and cons of Common Core, Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Way
Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave.
Discussion leaders are Sue Larimer and Tina Henold, who are both active in educational reform in
Northwest Ohio.
Common Core is an initiative to establish consistent educational standards across the states.
This meeting is open to the public.
