COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say an Ohio couple were arrested on felony child endangerment charges after
their five children were removed from the home and revealed they had been abused there.
The Columbus Dispatch reports the alleged abuse included being struck, burned, bitten and sexually abused
by the father, being locked in a room all day without food and water or a restroom, and drinking hot
sauce as punishment.
Columbus police say the children were removed from the home in March and the investigation escalated
after the children shared details of their allegations.
Police say the 33-year-old father was arrested Wednesday on charges including rape. His attorney, Ryan
Shafer, declined to comment Thursday.
Court records listed no lawyer for the 29-year-old mother. She is accused of knowing but not stopping the
abuse.
