County hires new assistant administrator

The new assistant Wood County administrator is coming up from just a couple floors below the
commissioners’ office.
Carri Stanley, who has been an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office for
five years, has been hired as the new assistant county administrator.
She will be paid $85,321 annually and start on Sept. 16, according to Andrew Kalmar, Wood County
administrator.
Kelly O’Boyle, the former assistant county administrator, resigned earlier this month to become the
finance director for the City of Napoleon. She had been with the county for 3 1/2 years, Kalmar said.

“We had a good pool of applicants, some pretty good people to interview, but she stood out,” Kalmar said
of Stanley. “She has a terrific background.”
From 1999-2007, she was the project director for the Putnam County Commissioners. Kalmar said that role
is similar to the assistant administrator job in Wood County.
Putnam County is smaller, but Stanley had direct experience with handling the budget and dealing with
departments and contracts. She also has experience with landfill operations, which will be part of her
job in Wood County, Kalmar said.
“I actually knew her while she was the project director because she would come to the same administrator
meetings,” he said.
In the evenings, Stanley went to law school, then joined the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office in the civil
division, Kalmar said.
She has worked regularly with the commissioners’ office on contracts and human resources, he said.
“She’s a very well-rounded candidate for this job and she has a terrific demeanor,” Kalmar said.
Stanley’s duties will include preparation and management of the county budget, supervision of the fiscal
staff within the commissioners’ office, and working closely with the county administrator to guide
projects for county offices and departments.
The assistant county administrator also serves as the director of the Wood County Solid Waste Management
District, including the Wood County Landfill.
Stanley is a graduate of Elmwood High School, the University of Findlay and the University of Toledo
College of Law. She currently serves as a senior assistant prosecutor in the Wood County Prosecutor’s
Office, where she has worked in the civil division since 2008. In this position she provides legal
advice, contract and bidding document review, and legal research to county officials, boards,
commissions, departments, townships, school districts and the health district.
