BG Parks and Rec seeks grant applications

0

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for support program
grants.
The Parks and Recreation Board previously voted to include up to $1,000 in grant funds in the 2015 budget
to provide support for community groups which offer unique leisure services and recreation activities
which are beyond the scope of the city’s programs.
To qualify, programs should meet the following guidelines:
•    The program must provide an opportunity/experience beyond the scope of the department’s programs.

•    The program must be open to all eligible individuals (does not exist to serve an exclusive group of
individuals). No private clubs will be considered.
•    The program must not be a business meeting or for-profit in nature.
•    Fundraising by a non-profit may be permitted in city parks upon prior recommendation by the Parks
and Recreation Director and approval by the Municipal Administrator or their designee. Fundraising
inside a rented building is also permitted if the event does not involve soliciting funds from other
park visitors.
•    Groups over 150 people must follow the Large Group Use Policy.
Application forms and detailed criteria are available at the Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Road, or by
calling Rachel Blickensderfer at 419-354-6297.
Completed applications must be returned by mail to: Parks and Recreation, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling
Green, OH 43402.
Applications must be postmarked no later than Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.
