LeSo Gallery show marks beginning of third season
TOLEDO – LeSo Gallery, 1527 Starr Ave., celebrates begins its third season with Overture III, featuring
the work of more than 40 artists and more than 50 works of art.
On Saturday, the opening night, from 7 to 10 p.m. muralist Chad Watt will creative a live painting  and a
performance of live music arranged by the  group ADJ•ective will be presented.
Gallery hours for the show will be Saturdays and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
Closing reception with artist talk will be held  Nov. 1 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Guitarist Peter Walker plays Robinwood concert tonight
TOLEDO – Guitarist Peter Walker will perform tonight at 9 at the Robinwood Concert House, 2564 Robinwood.

The show marks the sixth years of shows at the venue.
Walker came up on the folk scenes in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City’s Greenwich Village in
the 1960splaying a style described as American folk-raga. He studied with Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar
Khan, and was Dr. Timothy Leary’s musical director, organizing music for the LSD advocate’s
"celebrations." Walker settled in upstate New York in the early 1970s.
In more recent years, he has developed an intense interest in flamenco guitar and, through regular trips
to Spain, been accepted into the flamenco’s musical elite.

Liszt expert William Wellborn opens UT’s Price piano series
TOLEDO – Pianist William Wellborn, one of the nation’s foremost Liszt scholars, will be the first artist
in this year’s Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series.
Wellborn will present a master class Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Wellborn will perform a recital Sunday at 3 p.m. The  program will include Liszt’s "Mephisto
Waltz" and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in E flat major, sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti and  Schubert
songs transcribed by Liszt.
Wellborn is on the national board of the American Liszt Society and is the founding president of the San
Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the American Liszt Society.
