PERRYSBURG – The Wood County Humane Society wants to "get out and wag a tail" at its upcoming
Mutt Strut fundraising event on Sept. 27.
The event will be held in the W. W. Knight Nature Preserve on White Road and will run from 10:30 a.m. to
2 p.m.
The centerpiece of this annual family friendly event is a walk to benefit the non-profit organization.

Attendees are encouraged to walk with a pet, walk in memory of a pet, or even walk without a pet.
Individuals can sign up to walk (and raise money) as a team on the organization’s Razoo page.
Prizes will be given for the most money raised by the Big Dog (age 21 and up), the Top Dog Jr. (ages 14
to 20), and the Top Puppy (age 13 and younger).
All individuals who raise at least $25 before the event takes place will receive a T-shirt and have their
registration fee for the event waived.
Pre-registration for the event is available on the WCHS website; the pre-registration cost is $25.
Registration on the day  of the event is $35 and T-shirts will be available on an "as come"
basis.
Registration for the walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the walk will officially commence at 11 a.m.
The WCHS Mutt Strut event also will feature a Beauty PAWgeant at 1 p.m., which will be judged by Mark
Elliott from 93.5 WRQN’s Breakfast Show. And, for the second consecutive year, the WCHS will partner
with the Weiner Dog Nationals, an annual event in which dachshunds battle it out to determine who is the
faster weiner. That event will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.
