TONTOGANY – The names of two people killed in a Sunday single-vehicle crash on Sugar Creek Road near
Scott Road have still not been released, pending a positive identification.
Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said this morning that damage incurred as the result of the crash
rendered the bodies of the deceased unidentifiable. They are awaiting the results of testing by the Wood
County Coroner’s Office before releasing the names.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash occurred around 6:12 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle lost
control, traveled off the left side of the road, and struck a utility pole and a tree.
Both occupants in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
