To the Editor:
My name is Ray Young, and I am a candidate for the State Board of Education in this area. Only a few of
the current 19 State Board of Education members have any teaching or school leadership experience. Also,
as educators and parents, most of us have never seen or spoken with a State Board member, yet they are
the ones who decide public school policy that affects all of us. I hope to change that by being a voice
for educators and families in this region.
My 40 years of school experience as a teacher, principal, college instructor and Local BOE member, makes
me uniquely qualified to be a candidate to serve this region on the State Board. District 2 includes
Lorain, Erie, Huron, Ottawa, Lucas, Wood and Fulton counties. Your support and advice would be greatly
