Penta hosts Ag Day and Cut-A-Thon to benefit American Cancer Society

PERRYSBURG – Penta Career Center is hosting Ag Day and a Cut-A-Thon Fund Raiser for the American Cancer
Society on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Penta campus, 9301 Buck Road.
Ag Day, which has been organized by the Penta FFA chapter, features a Spring Flower Sale by the Floral
Design & Greenhouse production students; a Tree and Shrub Sale by the Landscape &
Turfgrass Management students; Dog Grooming by the Small Animal Care students; hands-on energy
activities for kids by the Alternative Energy Technology students; and a garden tractor pull at 9 a.m.
(kiddie pedal tractor pull at noon) by the Gas & Diesel Engine Systems students.
New to Ag Day this year is a Dodge Test Drive Fund Raiser, organized by Penta’s Automotive Technology
program, and sponsored by Rouen Chrysler-Jeep. Six new vehicles will be available for a test drive. For
each test drive, Chrysler will donate $20 to the student scholarship fund at Penta.
Penta’s Hair Design and Cosmetology programs are collecting donations for the American Cancer Society by
sponsoring a Cut-A-Thon on Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturday from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary and all types of salon services will be available during the
Cut-A-Thon. All salon services will take place in the Cosmetology labs and visitors should follow the
campus signs to the Cosmetology parking area.
Ag Day also features e-Waste where people can drop off end-of-life computers, cell phones, televisions,
printers, microwave ovens, and copiers. There is a $15 to $20 fee to recycle televisions. A convenient
drop off location will be available on the Penta campus.
Ag Day is free to attend. Food and beverages will available to purchase.
