TOLEDO – Maumee Valley Country Day School Board of Trustees announces the appointment of five new
members: Laurie Avery, Martha Corcoran, Todd Dapkus, Jean Kay-Lee, and Nabeel Jabarin.
Avery, of Perrysburg, is a 1988 graduate of MVCDS. She and her husband Rick are the parents of three
MVCDS students. She is a partner in the Toledo Office of Reminger Co., LPA where she focuses her law
practice on the defense of employers in wrongful termination and discrimination claims as well as
professionals in the defense of malpractice claims.
Corcoran, of Maumee, and her husband John are parents of two Maumee Valley students. After graduating
from the University of Notre Dame, she taught middle school in Toledo’s central city before embarking on
a career in retail management with The Andersons. Today, she focuses on her family and volunteer work.

Dapkus, of Perrysburg, was born in Toledo and then spent most of his childhood in Michigan’s Upper
Peninsula. While visiting Toledo in 1995, he met his wife Sylvia. They eventually relocated to Toledo
where he works with a diverse group of scientists, engineers, architects and production associates as
part of his role at First Solar. They have two children, one a Maumee Valley graduate and one still in
school.
Kay-Lee, of Perrysburg, is a parent of two MVCDS students. She is married to Scott Lee, MD. She received
her dental and orthodontic specialty degree from Columbia University and BA in chemistry and economics
from Cornell University. She is an orthodontist with offices in Maumee and Perrysburg for the past 15
years. She has also served as an adjunct professor of dentistry at UTMC.
Jabarin, of Toledo, is an alumnus of MVCDS class of 1998. Nabeel grew up at MV, as he started in the
faculty day care in the fall of 1980. Dorothy Jabarin, Nabeel’s mother, was a teacher at MVCDS for 30
years and taught mainly Chemistry and Computer Science. He is married to Amanda Lyons and has three
children, all at Maumee Valley. He is currently a portfolio analyst with McDonald Partners. Nabeel
earned his BA from Miami University.
