Stimmel’s welcomes bees Saturday
There will be a live bee hive for people to observe and learn about bees and honey at the Stimmel’s
Saturday Farmer’s Market.
Local sweet corn and other produce also will be available Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will also be local honey, maple syrup, home raised beef and chicken, along with handmade items.
Stimmel’s Saturday Farmer’s Market is located at 1220 W. Wooster St. in Bowling Green.
Northwood FD receives grant
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) has announced that the City of Northwood Fire Department has been
awarded $32,470 for Fire Prevention by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) program.
The FP&S program is an initiative of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program.
The department received this funding as part of the round two competitive Fiscal Year 2013 FP&S
announcements.
Programs funded in the Fire Prevention category include general education/awareness; code
enforcement/awareness; fire and arson investigation; and national, state or regional programs and
studies.
