Luminarias return to New Rochester
A Christmas Eve luminaria tradition will continue in New Rochester, should the weather cooperate.
The yearly outdoor decorative candle display would be canceled should heavy rain or winds persist on
Wednesday, organizers said.
This would mark 34 years for the displays in New Rochester, which is about six miles east of Bowling
Green on U.S. 6, northeast of the intersection with Ohio 199 north.
One hurt in I-75 crash
NORTH BALTIMORE – One person was injured in a crash Monday morning near the village.
The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to the single-vehicle crash, on
Interstate 75 at the 167 milepost, at 7:20 a.m.
One person in the vehicle was transported to Wood County Hospital for treatment.
Additional details on the crash were not available at press time.
One person injured in BG crash
One person was hurt Friday in a crash on East Wooster Street near South College Avenue.
Bowling Green Police report that at 5:27 p.m. Erik Nystrom, Shaker Heights, was westbound on East Wooster
Street approaching South College when he failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead and struck a
vehicle ahead of him driven by Pamela Westmoreland, Huber Heights, who had slowed due to traffic.
A passenger in Westmoreland’s vehicle, Andrea Simmons of Cary, North Carolina, was taken to Wood County
Hospital by BG Fire/EMS with possible injuries.
Nystrom was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
BG Municipal Court closed for holiday
The Bowling Green Municipal Court will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Christmas
holiday.
The normal schedule for those dates is canceled.
