Bridge work done, roads reopen
ODOT bridge work has been completed this season.
Jerry City Road, between Emerson Road and Linhart Road is now open.
Owen Road, between Walbridge Road and Plumey Road is now open.
Bradner Road, between Ohio 795 and Collins Road is now open.
Work will resume next spring.
Rossford warns of email scam
ROSSFORD – Police are warning of an email scam stating an order is ready to pick up at a local Costco
store.
Police Chief Glenn Goss, who received the email, indicated that he had not made an online order at Costco
and, if he hovered his computer’s curser over the "[email protected]" email address in the
email, a real email address, not from Costco will appear.
Scammers hope that victims will click the link to a website in the email that would ask for credit card
information, said Goss.
Police are asking residents to be extra cautious in responding to emails from companies that don’t ask
for known passwords or log-in IDs. Residents are also reminded that almost every company uses its own
name in their email address.
Sibbersen receives auditor award
Wood County Auditor Michael Sibbersen received an award from the state auditor’s office on Thursday.
Sibbersen was given the Auditor of State Award With Distinction during a meeting of the Wood County
commissioners.
The honor, which was also given to Sibbersen in 2013, reflects a clean financial review by the state,
said Derek Merrin, the state auditor’s Northwest Ohio representative.
"Wood County again passed with flying colors," Merrin said of this year’s audit procedures.
"It’s important to recognize that this puts Wood County in a very select group. Fewer than 5 percent
of all entities that our office audits annually are eligible and earn this award."
