Jazz singer entertains at Perrysburg market

PERRYSBURG – Kim Buehler and Friends, including noted drummer Pete Siers, will perform a Music at the
Market concert Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at the  Commodore Schoolyard, the corner of Louisiana and Indiana
avenues.
Buehler’s singing career has spanned nearly three decades and many different genres of music. She is best
known for her work as a jazz singer and educator.  She has performed all over the United States (as well
as in France, while serving as legendary jazz star Jon Hendrick’s graduate assistant).  She teaches jazz
and classical voice at the University of Toledo, as well as  on staff of the Toledo School For the Arts
as a private voice teacher.   
Her multifaceted singing career  includes a successful career as a commercial singer in both Toledo and
Detroit, lending her voice to many TV and radio campaigns.
Joining Buehler will be the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Siers, who has performed at Carnegie hHall, with
numerous symphony orchestras and more than 50 recordings including Russell Malone’s "Black
Butterfly."
The quartet also includes Jeff Halsey on bass who has toured Europe and the United States performing with
such artists as Tommy Flanagan, Jimmie Forrest, Clark Terry, Jay McShann, J.C. Heard, Dizzy Gillespie,
Arturo Sandoval and Stanley Cowell. He teaches at Bowling Green State University and often performs with
his university colleagues.
Rounding out the ensemble will be pianist Josh Silver, a graduate of the Toledo School For the Arts and a
recent graduate of BGSU. Silver has become a fixture on the area jazz scene.
