Cinco de Mayo meal at St. Louis School
CUSTAR – St. Louis School, Custar, will have a Cinco de Mayo meal Saturday, serving from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

There will be a selection of homemade Mexican food including burritos, tacos, Spanish rice, refried beans
and much more for a free will donation.
All proceeds go to the school.
Eastwood concert band performs; traveled to Florida
The Eastwood High School Concert Band will perform at the Ohio Music Education Association State Band
Adjudicated Event on Friday at 6:45 p.m. in the Findlay High School gymnasium. The band advanced from
the district level by earning a "I" superior rating. The event is free and open to the public.

The band traveled to Orlando, Fla., April 10-17. The band has been taking this trip every four years
since 1986.
In Disney’s "You’re Instrumental" Performing Arts Workshop, the concert band sight read,
prepared and recorded a polished performance of special Disney music selections in a studio environment
like professional musicians. The marching band performed a Disney march medley in the Magic Kingdom’s
Festival of Fantasy pre-parade for thousands of spectators. The band was able to visit four Disney
parks, Typhoon Lagoon water park, and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The band was accompanied
by band boosters, family members and band alumni.
Bus drive Road-e-o is Saturday
PERRYSBURG – This year’s annual Northwest Regional School Bus Driver Safety Road-e-o will be hosted at
Perrysburg High School on Saturday. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an official
welcome to the participants between 8:15 and 8:30 followed by the day’s events. Awards will be presented
to the top drivers around 2 p.m. About 50 participants are expected to compete.
Drivers at all levels will be tested on their knowledge of general rules, driving laws, pre-trip
inspections and operation procedures in written exams. Drivers then move to the maneuverability course.
Right turn skills, student pick-up/drop-off procedures, turn-around, railroad crossing, offset driving,
stop line and depth perception are part of the competition. Each area tests their driving abilities and
all of the events simulate the daily challenges drivers face while transporting students. .
Monday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day.
