Downs retained as Perrysburg president

PERRYSBURG – The school board retained Gretchen Downs as president and elected Walt Edinger as vice
president during an organizational meeting Monday.
New board members Sue Larimer and Cal Smith, elected in November, and Jarman Davis, who was chosen to
fill a vacant seat last week, were installed at the meeting and took an oath of office administered by
Judge Molly Mack, new to Perrysburg Municipal Court.
The group discussed setting a board retreat for late February, made committee assignments and approved
various housekeeping items.
Committees will consist of: curriculum/technology, Downs and Edinger; finance, Smith and Davis;
personnel, Smith and Edinger; policy, Larimer and Edinger; pupil services, Larimer and Downs; records,
Downs; operation, Smith and Davis; communication, Larimer; legislative liaison, Larimer; Ohio School
Board Association delegate, Davis; alternate, Downs; city representatives, Larimer and Edinger; township
representative, Downs; county representatives, Davis and Smith.
Though he did not win re-election in November, former board member Mark Schoenlein has one year left on
his representation to the board of Penta Career Center.
