Luckey churches plan service
LUCKEY – This year’s  Luckey Ecumenical "Blue Christmas" worship service will be held on Dec.
21 at 7 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 111 Main St., Luckey.  
This is a joint ecumenical service with the five churches of Luckey: Emmanual Free Will Baptist Church,
Faith United Methodist Church, Salem Grace United Lutheran Church, Zion United Methodist Church, and
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.  
The purpose of the Blue Christmas service is to offer a worship setting for those who have lost loved
ones or experienced significant personal loss and are not yet comfortable celebrating in the festive
Christmas services.
Soup & Salad Sunday set
Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Road, will hold its soup and salad meal Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to
1 p.m. The menu will include corn chowder and chicken noodle soup, hot dogs and hot beef sandwiches,
plus a variety of salads and desserts for a free-will offering. The meal will benefit Luther Home of
Mercy.
‘Blue Christmas’ event planned
Peace Lutheran Church, 1021 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green, will be celebrating "Blue Christmas"
on Thursday at 7 p.m. This is a worship service creating sacred space and pause for remembering those we
miss and to be present with those living in times of loss. All are welcome.
Christmas song sing-along set
Sugar Ridge Community Church will host a Christmas song sing-along Sunday at 6 p.m. The church is located
at 11634 Sugar Ridge Road.
Hams needed for food baskets
TOLEDO – Helping Hands of St. Louis is in need of 150 boneless hams by Monday. The East Toledo soup
kitchen has received donations of 50 hams in the past week and needs many more to fill requests for 200
Christmas meal baskets.
Ingredients for side dishes have been donated, but the baskets are in need of the main course.
Helping Hands gives out meal baskets to provide a way for the soup kitchen’s regular guests to cook and
eat a meal at home with their families on Christmas.
Donations may be sent to or dropped off from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Helping Hands, 443 Sixth St., Toledo,

Deacons Christmas Party set
First Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green will hold its annual Deacons Christmas Party on Saturday
morning. Guests will join for breakfast, a visit by Santa Claus and gifts for the children. The families
attending will also be given food baskets to take home.
Pancakes with Santa planned
GRAND RAPIDS – New Life Community Wesleyan Church will host a free pancake breakfast on Saturday from 8
to 11 a.m. Santa will greet guests and pose for pictures from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The church is located
at the corner of Woodburn Avenue and Second Street.
Truck Stop Ministries offers dinner concert
NORTH BALTIMORE – Truck Stop Ministries Inc., at Petro Truck Stop, will host a dinner concert Sunday
featuring Jake Reel and Marlene Vance. Dinner at the Iron Skillet Restaurant will be at 5 p.m., followed
by the concert at 6 p.m. The truck stop is at 12900 Deshler Road, near the intersection of Interstate 75
and Ohio 18.
