Police currently have no suspects in a bomb threat incident that spurred the evacuation of a Bowling
Green manufacturing facility Wednesday afternoon.
Deputy Chief Tony Hetrick of the Bowling Green Police Division said that Vehtek Systems, 2125 Wood-Bridge
Blvd., received a phone call around 1:30 p.m. from an unknown male stating that four explosive devices
had been placed in the building.
The company, which has about 200 employees, evacuated its workers. Nearby businesses in the industrial
park were also notified of the threat, but were not required to evacuate due to their distance from
Vehtek, said Hetrick.
BGPD and the Toledo Police Department’s bomb squad responded. Additionally, a total of five canine units
from TPD, Bowling Green State University Police, and CSX Police, came to the scene.
No explosive devices were found in the facility, and workers were allowed back inside as of 4:15 p.m.
