BG modifies city income tax practices

Beginning with 2013 tax returns, Bowling Green has modified its practice of mailing tax forms to every
taxpayer. Instead, the city has mailed postcards to taxpayers with information about income taxes and is
offering a number of options for retrieving tax forms.
Forms are available per the following:
• City website: www.bgohio.org. Form is available under "quick links."
• Income Tax office, 304 North Church Street (basement)
• Via mail, by request.
There are several reasons for the change in practice, according to Income Tax Commissioner Robert Wright.
"In previous years," Wright said, "the majority of Bowling Green taxpayers either used
the online tax form at our website or a generic tax form created by a tax preparer. This change will
save tax dollars and significantly reduce the amount of unused paper."
Those with questions about this change should contact the income tax office at 419-354-6288.
The Bowling Green income tax filing deadline is April 15, 2014. As a reminder, the Bowling Income Tax
Division does not have the ability to accept electronic tax return submissions.
