Tickets for Players’ ‘Dearly Departed’ on sale
Tickets for the Black Swamp Players’ production of "Dearly Departed" are now on sale at Grounds
For Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
The comedy will be staged  Sept. 12, 13, 19 and 20 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. at the First
United Methodist church in Bowling Green.
Tickets cost $12 and $10 for students and seniors. All tickets for the show presented in the round will
be general admission.
‘Dearly Departed" follows the Turpin family and a few of their neighbors as they deal with the death
and funeral of family patriarch, Bud.
The cast includes Kate Hoover, Jim Pinkleman, Wayne Weber, Sharon Esper, Dale David, Stephanie Truman and
Guy and Janet Zimmerman. The Forman family, Ben, Kristen, and their 1-year old daughter, Emmy, will also
be in the cast.
PRIZM is sponsoring ‘Beyond Words’ exhibit
TOLEDO – About 70  local authors and artists collaborated on works to be shown in PRIZM’s "Beyond
Words"  exhibit in partnership with the Gallery at the Toledo-Lucas County Main Library,  325
Michigan St.
The show will open Sept. 6 and continue through  Nov. 2.
An opening reception will be held  Sept. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Awards will be given out at the reception.

The creative challenge of "Beyond Words" was to ask artists to collaborate  allowing their work
to be interpreted, and to, in turn, accept the challenge to create new works inspired by others.
Radio host hosting live swing performance
Larry Wagner, host of WGTE FM 91’s big band and swing radio show, "Portraits in Swing," will
serve as master of ceremonies for "Portraits in Swing LIVE" on Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30
p.m. at Centennial Terrace, 5773 Centennial Road in Sylvania.
The Johnny Knorr Orchestra, conducted by Jerry Knorr with guest vocalist Kelly Broadway, will perform
classic big band tunes as well as a musical salute to U.S. Armed Forces. The performance will be
recorded by public radio station WGTE FM 91 for broadcast Sept. 6 at 8 on "Portraits in
Swing."
Tickets are $10 with half-price admission for U.S. veterans. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Turner’s piano 3 booked as Jazz on Maumee act
TOLEDO – Pianist Kyle Turner and friends will perform a Jazz on the Maumee concert Wednesday from 5:30 to
7:30 p.m. in the Aqua Lounge at the Grand Plaza Hotel, 444 N Summit St.
Joining Turner will be Will Kinsey, drums, and Will DeYoung, bass.
Cover charge is $15, $10 for members of the Art Tatum Jazz Society and  $5 for students.
Zoo portraits displayed
FOSTORIA – An exhibit of photographic portraits of the animals in the Toledo Zoo continues at the Wesley
Memorial Gallery through Sept. 30.
The photographs are the work of Linda S. Milk, a professional photographer whose work has appeared in the
zoo’s magazine and brochures.
The gallery is in the natrhex of Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren St.
