Connor Yaney, 19, Swanton, was charged with underage possession of alcohol and open container. He was
released at the scene.
Accidents occurred March 16:
Tiffany Kitchen, Tontogany, was parked in City Lot 4. Michael Dines, Monroe, Michigan, pushed into the
space next to her vehicle, struck it then drove away. Dines was stopped a mile away from the crash and
was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control, hit skip and traffic control device.

Matthew Rush, 33, BG, was arrested for aggravated menacing. He was taken to jail.
Accidents occurred March 17:
Dale Smith, Portage, was southbound on North Main Street, in the western-most lane, near the intersection
of Dale Drive. Jason Pontious, Findlay, was following when Smith braked suddenly. Pontious struck Smith
and was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Corey Cowans, BG, was westbound on East Napoleon Road, ahead of Reuban Whittaker, BG. Cowans stopped to
wait for traffic to make a left turn into a driveway and was struck by Whittaker, who was cited for
assured clear distance ahead.

Police responded to the 700 block of North Main Street for a report of tools being taken, and to a
business in the 1100 block of North Main Street for a theft that occurred that day.

A juvenile was arrested in the 1000 block of Klotz Road for disorderly conduct with persistence. He was
taken to the juvenile detention center.
Theft/shoplifting: Ashley Galligan, 25
Eleven vehicles were vandalized in the 100 block of State Street, the 1400 block of Clough Street and the
1400 block of East Wooster Street.

Right of way: James Myers, 24
At a traffic stop, Jake Smith, 21, was cited for driving under suspension (two counts), unauthorized
plates, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Justin Tyson, no information, was
arrest for an assault warrant out of Port Clinton and was taken to jail.
Accidents occurred March 20:
James Myers, BG, was stopped at the stop sign northbound on South Grove Street at Pearl Street. Angelica
Ortiz, Elmore, was westbound on Pearl. Myers proceeded into the intersection and was struck by Ortiz.
Myers spun off the road and struck the curb and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

More than 30 break-ins were reported in the 700 block of Napoleon Road, the 900 block of Klotz Road, the
400 block of South Summit Street, the 1000 block of Varsity West, the 1000 block of Varsity East, and
the 200 block of Varsity North.
Accidents occurred March 21:
Sarah Kovacs, BG, was parked facing northbound in front of 414 N. Grove St. An unknown Ford struck and
driver side mirror and fled the scene, leaving behind the Ford’s passenger mirror.

Brittany Lowe, 21, BG, was arrested for felony forgery, attempted forgery, felony tampering with records,
no front plate, driving under suspension and failure to reinstate. She was taken to jail.
Accidents occurred March 22:
Raymond Emmerich, BG, was northbound on South Church Street, approaching West Washington Street, when he
collided with a utility pole on the east side of the roadway. Emmerich was cited for failure to maintain
reasonable control.

Vehicles were vandalized in the 2000 block of Napoleon Road, the 600 block of Frazee Avenue and the 600
block of South Summit.
Accidents occurred March 24:
Richard Mathey, BG, was stopped for a traffic light on West Wooster at Church Street when he was struck
from behind by Betty Jones, BG, who was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Amanda Kern, BG, was southbound on Haskins Road at Poe Road, stopped at the light. Sean O’Donnell, BG,
was following, failed to stop in time, and struck Kern. O’Donnell was cited for assured clear distance
ahead.

Charges were filed against Jordan Ditch, 29, BG, for disorderly conduct/loud noise. A warrant was issued
for his arrest. He was arrested this month.
