Egg Drop Challenge returns to Imagination Station
TOLEDO – Imagination Station visitors are encouraged to take a crack at the Egg Drop Challenge and put
their engineering skills and ingenuity to the test Saturday and Sunday.
The Egg Drop Challenge is one that has visitors scrambling to “eggs-periment” with different materials as
they develop a contraption to protect an egg from a 20-foot drop.
Participants must drop their egg from the 20-foot balcony from the upper level to the lower level at
Imagination Station.
“The Egg Drop Challenge is one of our most popular events, and it’s an amazing display of innovation and
creativity,” said Sloan Eberly Mann, director of education. “There’s a buzz of friendly competition and
when one design fails, families immediately head back to the drawing board to try again. It’s the
engineering design process at work in a fun and engaging way.”
The Egg Drop Challenge is free for visitors with paid Imagination Station admission. All visitors to the
science center on Saturday will receive a coupon for 20 percent off their total purchase at City Egg
courtesy of Scramblers. Egg drop challengers whose egg survives the fall will be entered into a prize
drawing.

a plant at the source and buys Jess the chance to win a spot working for the library.
“Ban This Book” is the story of fourth-grader Amy Anne, who starts a secret banned books locker library
when her favorite book is challenged by a well-meaning parent and taken off the shelves of her school
library.

her mother and father. Dita eventually finds herself the protector of eight books were smuggled in by
Jewish prisoners, and she must keep them hidden and safe from the Nazis.
“The Grimm Legacy” is the story of New York high school student Elizabeth, who gets an after-school job
as a page at the “New-York Circulating Material Repository.” When she gains coveted access to its Grimm
