BG’s Craggs signs NHL contract

Bowling Green State University’s forward Lukas Craggs has agreed to sign a contract with the Nashville
Predators of the National Hockey League.
The junior led the Falcons with five game-winning goals this season, slotting him tied for eighth in the
nation. He finished with 30 career goals, including a career-high 13 this season.
Craggs, known for his intensity, also racked up 290 penalty minutes across 116 career games. His 120
penalty minutes this season led the nation by a wide margin.
Despite Craggs’ games played decreasing each year, his goals scored, assists and points all increased
from season to season. The instigator also saw his penalties and penalty minutes steadily increase since
his freshman year.
The Predators, with 45 wins this season, have clinched a playoff spot.
McDonald signs in AHL
BGSU’s Connor McDonald signed with the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League on Thursday.
The Reign are a development league affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings.
The senior defenseman racked up 161 career games in the Falcons’ orange and brown.
McDonald’s plus-minus peaked this season at plus-17. The defender scored at least one goal in all four
seasons, including a career-high four goals last season.
The Westerville native tallied 25 career assists, 32 points and pumped in a short-handed goal this
season. McDonald was a key piece for BG as it clinched a spot in the NCAA tournament for the first time
in 29 seasons this year.
