Wood County Hospital offers vascular screenings

Three vascular screenings are being offered by Wood County Hospital on Tuesday.
Carotid artery/stroke screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease will be
screened. The cost is $100 for all three or $35 for each.
Board-certified vascular surgeon Dr. Arthur Delos Reyes will meet with participants the day of the
screening to discuss results.
Diseases that affect the blood vessels may not produce early signs or symptoms, according to a press
release by the hospital. It is important to detect vascular disease early. Damage may occur silently
over time in the blood vessels that supply the heart and the brain. This damage can lead to coronary
artery disease, heart attack and stroke. Vascular screening exams can identify vascular disease before
problems occur, helping to save lives and improve the quality of life.
