BG POLICE
Accident occurred Feb. 28:
Alicia Brossia, Walbridge, was westbound on East Newton Road and started to turn left at 1234 N. Main.
Joseph Beagle, BG, was stopped at a stop sign at the entrance of 1234 N. Main St. Brossia was cited for
failure to maintain reasonable control after colliding with Beagle.

Accidents occurred March 1:
Billy Smith, Blanchester, was southbound on North Main Street. Colton Halstead, BG, was in the driveway
at 1059 N. Main St. waiting to turn north. Smith activated his right turn signal to turn into the
driveway. Halstead was cited for failure to yield the right of way after he was struck by Smith.
Ashim Alwarsh, BG, was on South Summit Street at the stop sign at Clough Street. Stephen Jenkins, BG, was
westbound on Clough approaching South Summit. Alwarsh said he stopped at the stop sign, saw Jenkins
slow, and proceeded to turn westbound onto Clough. Alwarsh heard a horn beep and quickly stopped.
Jenkins said he saw Alwarsh roll to a stop and turn in front of him, and he sounded his horn before
striking Alwarsh. Jenkins was cited for assured clear distance ahead.

Chase Blandy, 20, Weston, was arrested for failure to reinstate, OVI and PAC (BAC 0.189). He was released
to his brother.
Police took a report of a dog bite in the 100 block of North Church Street, and damage to a vehicle in
the 500 block of Ridge Street.

Alyssa Barnhouse, 20, Bethel, was arrested for underage/under the influence and was taken to the
hospital.
Accidents occurred March 3:
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Newton Road and found a vehicle crashed into a telephone
pole with the passenger door open and the keys missing. The airbags had deployed, and the steering wheel
was broken off. The unknown driver had fled the scene. The owner, Anthony Phillips, BG, called to report
his car was stolen overnight.
Peggy Jackson, BG, was southbound on South College Drive and Cevenah McCoury, BG, was backing from the
driveway at 424 S. College Drive. McCoury backed into Jackson as she passed the driveway and was cited
for improper starting and backing a vehicle.
Nathan Lucas, BG, was westbound on West Gypsy Lane Road when he lost control, spun his vehicle and struck
a tree.

Accidents occurred March 4:
Linette Kemner, BG, was eastbound on East Gypsy Lane Road behind Dennis Waite, Whitehouse. Waite drifted
toward the center of the road. Kemner perceived Waite was making a left turn and began to pass on the
right. Waite then attempted a right turn and struck Kemner. Kemner was cited for improper passing on the
right.
Robert Tracy, BG, was southbound in the 600 block of Lafayette Boulevard. A vehicle owned by And Safety
Solutions, Walbridge, was parked northbound in front of 620 Lafayette. Tracy struck the parked vehicle,
forcing it into the driveway of 621 Lafayette. Tracy was cited for failure to maintain reasonable
control.
Dustin Ramsey, Pemberville, was following Leonardo Mata, Maumee, on East Poe Road near Thurstin Avenue.
Mata braked for traffic and was struck by Ramsey, who was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
Rebecca Buehrer, BG, was backing from 418 S. Church St. Lilly Mack, BG, was northbound on South Church.
Buehrer was struck by Mack and was cited for improper starting and backing a vehicle.
Christopher Decker, BG, was stopped southbound in traffic in front of 144 S. Church St. when he was
struck from behind by Nathan Giesige, BG, who was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
