An Evening with Eva Marie Saint, set for March 29, has been canceled at Bowling Green State University.

“Planning for the spring event has been difficult, but we’re looking forward to welcoming her home for a
future date,” said Dave Kielmeyer, BGSU marketing and communications.
The cancellation was announced on Wednesday.
”It was to be a retrospective of her career with scenes from her most popular films: ‘The Trip to
Bountiful,’ ‘On the Waterfront’ and ‘North by Northwest,’” said Dean Raymond Craig of the College of
Arts and Science. “She was going to do a reading with students that have received the scholarship in her
name.”
BGSU awards a scholarship that comes from contributions from Eva Marie Saint and her late husband Jeffrey
Hayden.
“This would have been an opportunity for those students to work directly with her,” Craig said.
Saint graduated from BGSU in 1946. She won an Academy Award for her performance in the Alfred Hitchcock
film “North by Northwest” (1959). She has been a supporter of the university for many years, receiving a
Lifetime Achievement Award last year.
Letters informing ticket holders were sent out Wednesday.
