Slater family donates for WCHA title
Scott Slater and family donated funds to provide the Bowling Green State University hockey team with a
charter flight to Mankato, Minnesota, for the WCHA championship game on Saturday.
In addition to the team, BGSU’s band and select members of the Bleacher Creatures will also be on the
flight.
The game begins at 8:07 p.m. on Saturday night. The winner receives the league’s automatic bid to the
NCAA tournament.
BGSU hockey watch party
Bowling Green State University athletics has announced a watch party at the Slater Family Ice Arena for
Saturday’s conference championship.
Doors to the Ice Lounge will open at 7 p.m. A concession stand and cash bar will be open.
Only the first 120 attendees, who will receive rally towels, will be permitted into the party.
Free youth basketball clinic
Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball program is hosting another youth basketball clinic.

The clinic will be for both girls and boys in grade 2-8. The event will run from 1-3 p.m. on April 14 at
the Stroh Center.
Participants are required to bring their own ball.
Miller earns MAC award
Bowling Green’s softball standout Meredith Miller was named the Mid-American Conference pitcher of the
week on Tuesday.
Miller earns the honor going 4-0 with a 1.17 ERA over the weekend. She added 21 strikeouts across 18
innings and held opponents to just a .203 AVG.
The senior combined on the Falcons’ first no-hitter in nearly a decade and helped them sweep the weekend
with six straight wins.
The honor is Miller’s first this season and the second of her career.
Ladies golf league seeks new members
The 18-hole ladies league at Riverby Hills Golf Club is seeking new members.
League play begins on May 1 with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
