Reel Opinions presents ‘American Experience: Prohibition’
PERRYSBURG — On March 21 at 2 p.m., WGTE and Way Library present a screening of “American Experience:
Prohibition.” In 1917 the 18th Amendment sails through both Houses of Congress; it is ratified by the
states in just 13 months.
When the amendment is signed into law, Prohibitionists rejoice that America has become officially dry.
But Americans are about to discover that making Prohibition the law of the land has been one thing;
enforcing it will be another. There will be a discussion after the program.
This program is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. For more information, visit
waylibrary.info or call 419-874-3135, extension 119.
See ‘Summer Hours’ at Way
PERRYSBURG — Way Public Library’s Reel Art International and Art Film Series continues on March 22 at 7
p.m. with a free screening of “Summer Hours.”
After the sudden death of their 75-year-old mother, three devoted adult siblings (Juliette Binoche,
Charles Berling and Jeremie Renier) try to divvy up the family estate — including a large country house
and valuable works of 19th century art—in a way that meets their divergent emotional and financial
considerations while honoring their loved one’s legacy. Summer Hours is an intelligent and realistic
family drama centered on the complicated web of sibling relationships during seasons of life and death.
(Adults only/In English and Italian/1h 43min)
The film will be shown in the Mercy Health Family Activity Room at Way. Admission is free. Refreshments
will be served.
