Break-it Make-it Clocks
Youth, ages 10 and up, or younger accompanied by an adult, are invited to the Wood County District Public
Library Children’s Place to investigate Clocks on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. for Break-It & Make-It
with Home Depot.
Youth will get to take apart broken clocks and investigate how they once worked. This program will serve
as a reminder that Daylight Savings Time ends the following day, so everyone will need to bring their
clocks ahead one hour.
Break-It & Make-It with Home Depot is a hands-on program and monthly partnership between the
Children’s Place and Home Depot. Call the Children’s Place desk at 419-352-8253 with any questions.
See planetarium show
“New Worlds” is playing at the Bowling Green State University Planetarium through Saturday.
“They Found a World of Ice and Beauty” starts Sunday and runs through March 16.
The planetarium is a 114-seat public science theater serving BGSU students, area schools and the public
of Northwest Ohio. Set under a 40-foot dome, the state-of-the-art SciDome video system fills the dome
with video that can immerse visitor in the cosmos and can show the sky as it would be seen from any
place on the Earth at any time.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. Sundays, 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Legopalooza at the library
Families are invited to the monthly Legopalooza program at the Children’s Place of the Wood County
District Public Library on Sunday from 2-3 p.m. Staff will share its Lego collection along with stories
and books for creative ideas, as well as a group building challenge.

Author, illustrator visits BGSU
Making the Cut: Celebrating Children’s Picture Books will be held at Bowling Green State University on
Monday.
Author/illustrator Lindsay Ward will do a presentation at 11:30 a.m. and a meet and greet at 12:20 p.m.
in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, second floor.
She will do a read aloud at 4:30 p.m. in the Curriculum Resource Center of Jerome Library, second floor.

Ward is the featured speaker for the May 4 Literacy in the Park event. On Monday, she will present her
work and her processes for writing and illustrating children’s picture books. Students, faculty, stuff
and community members will have the opportunity to talk with her. Signed books will be available for
purchase.
Storytimes, STEM in Waterville
WATERVILLE — The library, 800 Michigan Ave., is offering several children’s programs this month.
A Homeschool STEM Storytime is set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. Enjoy a monthly storytime with STEM concepts
and activities geared to ages 4-12. Registration is required.
Fun with Fishing will be held March 18 at 6:30 p.m. Introduce young beginner anglers to the fun sport of
fishing with games and casting practice. This program uses imitation fish and hook-less poles to teach
casting in a fun and safe way.
Missing: Unicorn is set for March 25 from 10-11 a.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Gather at the Library to help
find the missing Unicorn and make new friends. Ages 0-6. Registration is required.
Teens Making a Difference can do hands-on projects to be donated to local organizations on Saturday from
2-4 p.m. Earn service hours.
The OTAKU Anime and Manga Club is set for March 16 from 2-3 p.m. Ikuso anime club and binge watch anime,
talk manga and eat snacks.

Attend Pint-Sized Prom
A Pint-Sized Prom is planned for March 23 at the Bowling Green Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Road,
from 4-5:30 p.m. The theme is Under the Sea.
It is geared toward children ages 5 and under, with a parent or guardian.
The cost is $20 per pair for residents and $24 for non-residents.
There will be dancing, snacks and music. Go home with a goodie bag and souvenir photo.

Girl Scouts cookie troops have a hut to call home
PERRYSBURG – Levis Commons and Girl Scouts of Western Ohio have teamed up to take cookie sales through
the roof — with a roof. As in past years, the Girl Scouts will spend most of March at Levis Commons
selling Girl Scout cookies to the general public. This year, Levis Commons has given them a place to
call home with a custom built cookie hut to house their operation.
The Girl Scouts can be found in the Cookie Hut near Starbucks through March 24 on weeknights,
Monday-Friday from 4-8 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sundays noon-5 p.m.
Register now for Camp Hatch It
Bowling Green State University will hold Camp Hatch It, a one-week summer opportunity for entrepreneurs
who will be high school juniors or seniors this fall, June 16-20.
Following in the path of the Hatch, campers will spend a week working individually and in teams to plan,
develop and showcase their very own unique ideas in the camp’s closing program.
On the final day of camp, campers will present their ideas and parents and guests will vote. In addition
to Hatch It events, campers will experience life on BGSU’s campus residing in one of the residence halls
and engaging in activities with current BGSU student counselors.
Activities include working in teams to develop, plan and pitch an idea, exploring the campus and what it
has to offer, networking and meeting other student entrepreneurs, faculty and staff.
Students will pitch their ideas on the final day in front of parents, guests, BGSU faculty, staff and
local business partners. The winning team or top three individuals will receive a $1,000 scholarship to
the College of Business
Camp cost is $615 and includes, lodging, meals, transportation and all camp materials including a take
home book bag, water bottle and jump drive (need-based camperships possible).
The first phase of selections will be completed by March 15, with final selections on April 15.
ProMedica to Host ‘Girl Talk’
PERRYSBURG — ProMedica Women’s Services is hosting Girl Talk: Let’s Talk About What’s Up Down There, a
free seminar that shares the importance of proper pelvic health care including when to see a
gynecologist, urogynecologist, or pelvic floor physical therapist.
A panel of pelvic health experts will discuss the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of pelvic
conditions like chronic pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic floor physical
therapy. Registration is required and spots are limited.
