Accidents occurred Jan. 26:
Maycee Blodgett, Bellevue, was heading the wrong way in the alley between West Wooster Street and City
Lot 4. When she began to back up to turn around, she struck a parked vehicle. She was cited for improper
starting and backing a vehicle.
Sharon Lapierre, BG, was stopped westbound in the 500 block of West Poe Road. Lori Stephens, BG, was
driving westbound and was not wearing corrective lenses in violation of her driver’s license
restrictions. Stephens was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance after striking Lapierre.

Spenser Odell, BG, was westbound on East Wooster Street when he attempted to slow to turn right onto
North Enterprise Street. He slid through the intersection onto the sidewalk and struck a stop sign. He
was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

Matthew Armstrong, BG, was parked southbound in the 400 block of South Summit when the vehicle was struck
by an unknown driver.

Police responded to the 200 block of South Main Street for a woman who said she took prescription pills.
She was taken to the hospital and her dog was taken to the dog shelter.
Accidents occurred Jan. 28:
Princess Edwards, BG, was northbound on Campbell Hill Road, stopped for the light to turn left onto East
Wooster Street . A large truck began to turn left from East Wooster onto Campbell Hill, causing Edwards
to back up to create more room. She struck the vehicle stopped behind her, driven by Rachel Garcia, BG,
and was cited for improper starting and backing a vehicle.
Martin Farkas, Toledo, was westbound on East Poe Road at North Main Street, started to turn right, then
stopped due to traffic. He was struck from behind by Vicki Lemmon, BG, who was cited for assured clear
distance ahead.
Benjamin Garcia, BG, was ahead of Melody Sandwisch, Cygnet, and both were stopped for the light on East
Wooster Street at Manville Avenue. Sandwisch began moving forward and struck Garcia. Sandwisch was cited
for assured clear distance ahead.
Armando Ortega, BG, was eastbound on Clough Street, attempting to turn south on Williams Street. Due to
ice, he slid off the road and struck a stop sign. He was cited for failure to maintain reasonable
control.

Accidents occurred Jan. 29:
Michael St. John, Cincinnati, was parked in the 400 block of East Court Street when an unknown vehicle
crashed into the rear of his car and left the scene.
Kay Straley, Grand Rapids, was southbound on North Grove Street at Poe Road. She said she slid on ice and
drove into the intersection, striking another vehicle that left the area without stopping. Straley was
cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

Theft of utilities: Graham Lewis, 22
Jared Hummel, 27, homeless, was arrested for theft and abusing harmful intoxicants. After being cleared
at the hospital he was taken to jail.
