Sample food, go to Cleveland show with Beeker’s

PEMBERVILLE — Beeker’s General Store has events planned to beat the winter blues.
The third annual Sampling Saturday Food Fare will be held Jan. 26 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
This event provides opportunity to try Amish edibles, local honey, homemade baked goods, chocolates,
pickles and coffee.
Not only will guests have a chance to sample many items, but they will also have a chance to “meet the
maker” and ask questions of the vendor. Recipes incorporating products that we sell will also be
available.
Vote for the People’s Choice recipe. Local celebrities and residents are participating in a contest in
which Beeker’s will provide a product that we feature. The mystery cooks are being asked to create a
recipe with samples for taste testing.
Products in the mystery brown bags include such items as: Amish Wedding Raspberry Sweet & Sour
Salad Dressing, Faro Coffee, Post Muscadine Grape Juice, Amish Wedding Pickled Mild Okra, Mrs. Miller’s
Mild Sweet Pepper Mustard, Amish Wedding Peanut Butter Spread and Troyer Chicken.
There are still seats left to fill the bus for the Greater Cleveland Home and Garden Show on Feb. 2. Meet
at Beeker’s General Store at 7:30 a.m. for motor-coach transportation to the IX Center for a day of
browsing and then go to Petitti’s Garden Center for a guided tour.
For more information on either event, call 419-287-3274.
