The Wood County Committee on Aging will hold a Diabetes Education Empowerment Program, in conjunction
with Everyone with Diabetes Counts, starting in February.
DEEP is a Medicare-approved, evidence-based diabetes self-management education program developed by the
University of Illinois at Chicago.
Meetings are once a week for six weeks and each session lasts two hours.
Participants will learn how to manage diabetes and enjoy the benefits of a healthier, more energetic
lifestyle. Advance registration is required and class size is limited.
Classes meet every Friday from 1-3 p.m. starting Feb. 8, and ending six weeks later on March 15. They
will be held at the Bowling Green Senior Center, 305 North Main St.
To sign up for this class or future workshops, call 800-367-4935 or 419-353-5661 and ask for the Social
Services Department.
