The Northwest Ohio Gladiolus Society will conduct two public spring auctions this month.
This first auction will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Junior Fair General Purpose Room at the Sandusky County
Fairgrounds, 712 North St., in Fremont. Girl Scout Troop 50443 will assist the auctioneers.
The second auction will be 1 p.m. March 19, at the Liberty Township Hall, 9975 Township Road 89, Findlay.

Gladiolus bulbs, or corms, will be offered in different varieties and sizes just in time for gardeners to
plant this spring. The plants bloom in mid- to late summer and are ranked 1 through 5 depending on the
size of the bloom. Miniature blooms are sizes 1 and 2. Stems have multiple blooms, with the flowers at
the bottom of the stem opening sequentially to the tip providing longer display times. Glads are useful
in the landscape or as cut flowers.
