Eastwood’s girls basketball team was a 44-30 winner over Genoa in a Division III sectional semifinal at
Northview High School Tuesday night.
Jamie Schmeltz scored a game-high 18 points for Eastwood (12-11).
The Eagles outscored Genoa 23-9 in the second half after being tied at 21-21 at halftime.
Genoa finished its season 10-13.
Eastwood will play Swanton on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Northview.

In Holland, Zoe Shank scored 20 points for Elmwood in the sectional loss at Springfield High School.
Elmwood trailed 24-19 at halftime and was outscored 17-13 in the third quarter.
Shank was Elmwood’s lone player to reach double figure.
Elmwood finished its season 10-13.

In Luckey, Eastwood was outscored 28-19 over the second and third quarters en route to the nonleague
loss.
Ryan Reiter led the Eagles (17-4) with 18 points and Grant Hirzel added 10.
Ottawa Hills (13-7) was 32-for-38 from the free-throw line.
Rossford 54, Maumee 32
In Rossford, the Bulldogs led 24-14 at the half and extended their lead to 42-25 by halftime in the
nonleague win.
The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Rossford (12-9).
Conner Bihn led the Bulldogs with 15 points and Lucas Warner added 11.
Maumee is 6-15.
