St. Als boys track wins championship

The St. Aloysius Lions CYO junior boys track and field team won the Northwest Ohio Diocesan Championship
beating out 21 other parishes from throughout the region by scoring 95.5 points.
Bellevue finished second with 73 points and Toledo St. John’s was third with 70.5 points. Ryan Eligon
lead the Lions finishing first in the long jump (18’0”), first in the 100m (12.5 s), and second in the
shot put (39’5 3/4”). Kameron Frankart was the champion in the discus 104’2” and second in the high jump
5’0”. Isaiah Diller won the gold medal in the 800m (2:21.1) and won bronze medals in the 400m (59.9 s)
and 1600 (5:30). Nolan Barber was 4th in the shot put (34’2 1/2”). Garrett Hoepf was 6th in the high
jump (4’6”). Matthew Avery was 6th in the 100m (14.72). They wrapped up the team title with strong
finishes from the relay teams featuring Omar Vasquez, Paul Martin, Nolan Barber, Logan Inkrott, Matthew
Avery, Eli Hoorman, Ka! meron Frankart, Andrew Robinette, Will Rippey and JP Celis winning the silver
medals in the 4×100 and 4×400 and the bronze medal in the 4×200.
Junior girls finish 4th
The St. Aloysius junior girls team finished in fourth out of the 22 teams with 47.5 points. Bellevue was
first with 63, Findlay was second with 54, and Toledo St. Patrick’s finished third with 53 points. Maria
Horn finished a brilliant middle school career finishing undefeated in individual races for the fourth
straight season. She won the 100m gold medal, 200m gold medal, and 400m gold medal for the fourth
consecutive year. She set a new Diocesan record in the 200m (26.3s). Abby Bozigar won bronze in the
discus (69’6”). Payton Morman and Josie Genson tied for 5th in the high jump (4’0”). The relay teams
consisting of Avery Lewis, Emily Holman, Katelyn Konecny, Lydia Sadowski, Josie Genson, Payton Morman,
Isabella Zachary, and Lauren Deutschman won the bronze medal in the 4×200 and placed 4th in the 4×100
and 4×400.
Cadet girls finish 6th
The cadet girls finished in 6th place of the 22 teams. Ellie Eigner won bronze in the long jump. Anna
Divis finished fifth in the high jump. The relay teams of Sydney Craig, Sydney Deleon, Hannah Wagner,
and Emma Martin won the silver medal in the medley relay and won bronze in both the 4×100 and 4×200.
Cadet boys finish 4th
The cadet boys finished in 4th place of the 22 teams. Scotty Buff was 4th in the 1600m (6:04). The relay
teams of Noah Horn, Zane Kwiatkowski, Zane Kirchner, Cooper Kempf, and Simon Eligon won silver in the
4×100 and medley relay and also won bronze in the 4×200.
