Take a night hike at Wintergarden/St. John’s

Family Night Hikes will be held one Saturday a month through April at the Wintergarden/St. John’s Nature
Preserve.
Dates are Jan. 31 and Feb. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. and March 28 and April 25, from 8 to 10 p.m.
Join the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation staff for an evening of night hikes, nature activities and
folklore. View the preserve at night and learn about nocturnal animals, stars and constellations, the
moon and folklore as the group takes a guided walk on the trails at Wintergarden.  
Wear clothing for the season, and prepare children in advance experience. Call 419-354-6223 for
information on how to register. The cost per family is $7 for residents and $10 for non-residents. There
will be no walk-ins allowed.

Programs.
There will also be free drop-in Saturday morning family programs with the Wood County District Public
Library and Bowling Green Parks and Recreation.
A Spring Hike at Wintergarden/St. John’s Nature Preserve will be March 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Gather
the family for fun with the staff and celebrate the changing of the seasons. Say “hello to spring” with
stories and a hike at the preserve.
Monarchs are Marvelous at Simpson Garden Park is set for May 15 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
It’s time to start thinking about May flowers and the critters that are dependent upon them. Join staff
at Simpson Garden Park to learn more about monarchs.
