Senior center extends hours
The Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc., will continue extended hours and days of service at the Wood
County Senior Center in Bowling Green, July 2 through July 9 due to the expected high heat and humidity.
Hours of service will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including the Independence Day holiday. Regular programs and
services will be maintained.
Additional hours are scheduled for Friday to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This service is targeted to the older adults and those who might not have adequate cooling in their
homes.
Other Wood County Committee on Aging locations are open regular hours.
Kiwanis to sing for their lunch
Members of the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will participate in a patriotic sing-a-long at their weekly
meeting at noon on Thursday at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Local singer and actress Debra Shaffer will lead the group in honor of Independence Day.
Downey benefit planned Sunday
HASKINS – Sunday’s Haskins Community Ice Cream Social at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forst Road and Ohio
582, will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The event will benefit Tim Downey to help with medical expenses.
There will also be a Classic Car and Truck Show, a silent auction, dunk tank, games, face painting and
music. The menu includes coney dogs, hot dogs, sloppy joes, chicken and noodles, pie, cake, beverages
and ice cream.
Co-sponsored by Haskins Community Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Eastwood to meet
The Eastwood Board of Education will hold a special meeting Thursday at 7:15 a.m. in the district’s
administraive offices.
The board is expected to act on several individual teaching contracts and service agreements.
