BG’s Rogers honored by MAC
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green women’s basketball player Alexis Rogers is the Mid-American Conference East
Division player of the week, the league office announced on Monday.
Rogers, a native of West Chester (Lakota West High School), averaged 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per
game as the Falcons went 3-0 last week.
In nine games this season, the 6-foot-1 forward is second on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game.
She leads the team in rebounding at 6.8 per game and is third with 15 steals.
Rogers is in her first playing season at BG after transferring from Duke University.
Youth basketball program set
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is offering the Start Smart Basketball program for children ages 3-5.

Start Smart prepares both children and parents new to the sport for organized basketball using safe and
developmentally appropriate equipment. Parents will provide all instruction and skill development
one-on-one with their child, and a staff facilitator will be on hand.
Classes are held at the Veterans South Building located in City Park. Classes are on Thursdays from
5-5:45 p.m. beginning Jan. 19 and ending Feb. 23.
Costs are $45 for BG residents and $53 for non-residents. Registration deadline is Jan. 15.
