Pemberville woman dies after Ohio 105 crash

SCOTCH RIDGE — A Pemberville woman died and three teenagers were injured in a two-vehicle accident
Tuesday afternoon on Ohio 105 near Webster Road.
Marlene Wiegman, 72, of Pemberville, died later Tuesday at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, according
to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident was reported at 3:55.
Evan Bassett, 18, rural Pemberville, was westbound on Ohio 105 when he went left of center, striking an
eastbound vehicle being driven by Wiegman.

Also injured in the crash were Megan Largant, 17 and Alex Pease, 17, rural Pemberville, both passengers
in the Bassett vehicle.
Bassett was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, and was listed in serious condition.
Largant and Pease were taken to Wood County Hospital. Pease was later transported to St. Vincent’s and
was listed in serious condition.
Wiegman was also taken to Wood County Hospital and was later taken to St. Vincent’s, where she was
pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
