Catherine Rose Schivelbein, 98, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Wood Haven Health
Care.
She was born April 6, 1913 in Saskatchewan, Canada, to John and Magdalena (Schwab) Sewald. She married
Alex Schivelbein, Sr. in 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1976.
Mrs. Schivelbein was retired from H.J. Heinz.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Alter & Rosary Society, and the Tontogany
American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo every week with her friends and enjoyed going to casinos with her
children.
Surviving are sons, Leo (Correna) of Weston, Alex (Beulah) of Napoleon, and Robert (Jeanne) of
Jacksonville, Fl.; daughters, Dorothy (Rae) Schmeltz of Pemberville, Alice Getz (Bernard V.) of Portage,
Kathleen (Jack) Ninke of Pemberville and Frances (Curtis) Alexander of Perrysburg. She also leaves 23
grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lucille and Eva Marie, one
grandson, Wade Dunmeyer and 11 sisters and brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Father
Mark Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Troy Township Cemetery. Family and friends may call on
Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday one hour previous to the service at the DUNN FUNERAL HOME located
in Bowling Green’s Historical District at 408 West Wooster Street.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church or Wood Lane.
