PEMBERVILLE – The area public is invited to celebrate summer’s end by attending the 26th annual Chicken
Barbeque and Fall Festival at Otterbein Portage Valley.
The festival is slated from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 28, a Sunday, at 20311 Pemberville Road.
Rex Myers and his band, The Ramblin’ Man Band, will provide country-western music. Area craftspeople will
be displaying and selling quilting, paintings, homemade wooden toys, handmade cards and much more.
Tours of the OPV villas and the new apartments will also be available.
The day’s menu will feature a half-chicken barbecue dinner for $8 each or a quarter chicken or sloppy joe
sandwich dinner for $6. Meals include a baked potato, coleslaw, roll and beverage. The Luckey American
Legion Post No. 240 will be cooking the chicken, guaranteed rain or shine.
For a small fee, top it off with a slice of a homemade pie, baked by members of the Portage Valley
Auxiliary.
