Dottie Noe

Dottie Noe, lovingly known as our "Tough Old Bird," flew to heaven on Saturday, July 16, 2011
from Bowling Green Manor.
She was born September 4, 1921 to John Henry and Ruby Frances (Meridew) Emch in Delta, Ohio.
After graduation from Delta High School in 1939, she worked as a secretary in Toledo.
In October 1942, she married her high school sweetheart, William Cox. Sadly, Bill was killed in service
in WWII in April 1943. She married Lawrence Noe on July 20, 1946 at St. Richard’s Church in Swanton,
Ohio, and they moved to Bowling Green in 1949 to raise their family.
She worked as a secretary at PAG, which later was called Cargill, retiring in 1980.
A member of St. Aloysius Parish, she also was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader as well as a typist for
many BGSU professors. Lawrence passed away on May 12, 1997 after spending almost 51 years together.
Dottie LOVED her Falcon Basketball and Football and followed them religiously. No one dared call her
during a game unless it was half-time!
By far, her greatest joy was her family and when she was still able, she would travel to soccer,
basketball, baseball, tennis, and football games to watch her kids. In her mind they were always the
best.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Beth (Ron) June; son, Tom Noe; grandchildren: Brian
(Debbie), Sarah, Allison (Steve), Melissa, Johnny, Maria and Anna. Missing her too are her treasured
great-grandchildren: Noah, Dorrie (her namesake), Charlie, Jack and another baby due in October. Also
surviving are all "Her Girls" at BG Manor and many, many nieces and nephews who will miss
their Aunt Dottie.
Beside her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Warncke, Margery Bancroft and
brothers, Robert and Thomas Emch.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:45 p.m. at Dunn
Funeral Home, located in Bowling Green’s Historical District at 408 W. Wooster St.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church in Bowling Green, with
burial at Wood County Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius School Endowment Fund, BGSU College of Musical Arts/Noe Family
Scholarship Fund, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral
home.
