USHL forward commits to Falcons
Brent Tate, a right wing for the Lincoln (Neb.) in the United States (Hockey) Junior League, has verbally
committed to play collegiately at Bowling Green.
Tate had 10 goals, 16 assists and 144 penalty minutes in 42 games last season. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder
also had an on-ice rating of plus-eight.
Tate is from Canton, Mich. and will turn 20 in November.
Among the other schools to recruit him were Northern Michigan and Alaska.
Tate is BG’s first recruit for next season. BG has just two seniors this season, forwards James McIntosh
and Cameron Sinclair. – GORDON
Brossia 26th after 3rd round at Ohio Amateur
KETTERING – Eastwood High School graduate Kyle Brossia made three consecutive eagles and finished with a
77 in the third round Thursday at the Ohio Amateur at the NCR Country Club South Course.
Brossia is currently in 26th place with a three-round score of 223. Michael Bernard of Huber Heights
leads the field at 209.
The fourth and final round of the tournament is today.
Slo-puck hockey league planned
The Ice Arena is planning a Slo-Puck summer recreational hockey league beginning Monday.
The league will be divided into two divisions; an open division for ages 16-and-above and a 35- and-over
division. Draft night is Monday from 8:45 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. at the arena. Registrations will be due at
the draft. Acceptance of late registrations will be determined on league and division enrollment.
The cost is $150 per player for eight games plus playoffs and a game jersey.
Games will run between July 25 – Aug. 25 and will be scheduled at 8:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on
Monday-Wednesday nights.

Learn To Skate set
The Ice Arena is offering two summer Learn to Skates sessions.
Session I runs Monday through Aug.15. Session II is Aug. 15- Sept. 12. Each session is four weeks long.

Particpants can choose to participate one day a week, either Monday or Wednesday for $40 or on both days
for $80. Lessons are 30 minutes long scheduled between 6- 8 p.m. depending on age and skill level.
Classes are offered to ages three through adult and skill levels beginner through advanced. New rental
skates are included in the registration fee.

Volunteers needed for NCAA women’s tourney
The Bowling Green athletics department is looking for volunteers for the 2011-12 NCAA Women’s Basketball
Tournament first- and second-round games. BG is hosting first and second round games in the Stroh Center
on March 18 and March 20.
Anyone interested should fill out the volunteer form located at BGSUFalcons.com.
Volunteers will be needed from March 16-20 in a variety of areas and those who sign up will be contacted
as the tournament gets closer.
