President Lila James opened the June 1 meeting with 12 members and one guest present.
Guest Bob Thornton spoke regarding the upcoming scout campout on Aug. 12-14. Six scout troops are coming.
Drug awareness people, an NRA certified instructor, a representative of Sportsman Taxidermy and
"Cast Iron Ranger" Brent Colton will also attend.
Betty Briggs, Kathryn Shaffer and Ellen Bechstein were nominated to the executive committee. Shaffer
reported on the Girl State delegates. She sent $100 for the A&G test trip this year.
Lila James will serve coffee at the VA Clinic on June 20.
Shirley Davis, membership chairman, reported that the unit is 11 members short of its goal of 175.
New unit officers are President Lila James; First Vice President Shirley Davis; 2nd Vice President Karen
Snyder; Secretary Elaine Moenter, Treasurer Donna Rolf; Corresponding Secretary Ellen Bechstein;
Chaplain Rosemarie Heilman; Historian Teresa Bailey; Jr. Past President Shirley Davis; Sgt. at Arms
Geraldine Levorchick.
Past Presidents officers are: Irene Michel, president; Shirley Davis, first vice president; and Lila
James, secretary-treasurer.
The next meeting is July 6 . The Boy and Girl State potluck will be held July 12 at 6:30 p.m.
