Sheriff issues Fostoria theft alert

FOSTORIA – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released an alert Monday concerning unlocked vehicles being
entered in the city.
According to the alert, released at 7:45 a.m., there have been "numerous vehicles entered in the
Fletcher Heights area of Fostoria. Most of these vehicles were unlocked and just small items and change
were taken."
According to an incident report, two unlocked vehicles were entered at a residence in the 1500 block of
Pelton Road in the city early Friday. It was reported that $10 in change was taken from one vehicle, and
that a purse was taken from the other. The purse was later located by a neighbor and returned, and
nothing was reported missing. Approximately $20 in change was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 1300
block of South Drive on Saturday.
The alert advised residents to lock their vehicles.
