‘Porgy & Bess’ cast to perform at library

A preview of the upcoming concert staging of "Porgy and Bess" will be presented Saturday at 1
p.m. in the atrium of the Wood County Library in downtown Bowling Green.
According to Myra Merritt, of the Bowling Green State University, the show will offer a sampling of what
listeners will hear at the Festival Series performance Feb. 26.
The cast features Ryan Jones as Porgy with Monique Young and Rebecca Eaddy sharing the role of Bess. They
will also sing other parts.
Also in cast Saturday are Franklin Brewer as Jake and Greg Ashe and Christopher Jackson sharing the role
of Sportin’ Life.
The performance will feature a number of songs from the score including: "Summer-time," "A
Woman is a Sometime thing," Daytime and night time," "My Man’s gone Now," "Bess
You is my Woman Now ," "It ain’t necessarily so," "It takes a long pull to get
there," "I got plenty of nothin’," "I loves you Porgy," "There’s a Boat
dat leavin soon" and "Clara Clara."
The performance is sponsored by Pro Musica, the support organization for musical activities on campus.

Refreshments will be served.
